📚 AI Concept of the Week: Debunking the Myths around AI

Unlock your business's full potential with AI. Don't let the myths hold you back. Get the facts and see how AI can transform your business.

It seems like everywhere you look these days, someone is talking about AI. It is revolutionizing the way we live and work. The excitement today with AI is similar to the enthusiasm the public experienced when they first understood the potential of the Internet, e-commerce, online social platforms, or mobile. However, despite all the hype, there are still many myths and misconceptions surrounding this technology. Business leaders are often hesitant to fully embrace AI due to fears of ethical concerns, and implementation complexity. But what if I told you that many of these fears are unfounded and that AI could be the key to unlocking your business's full potential? In this blog post, I'll debunk some of the most common myths about AI.

🗞️Top News of the Week

On Thursday, Andreas Braun, the CTO of Microsoft Germany, spoke at an AI kickoff event and announced the upcoming release of GPT-4, which will feature multimodal models that include video capabilities, offering new possibilities. This announcement comes as a surprise, as Sam Altman previously stated that GPT-4 would be released in January after a long wait, leaving uncertainty as to whether this information is accurate, speculative, or a spoiler. However, the prospect of GPT-4 being both multimodal and multilingual is impressive and aligns with expectations for Microsoft's technology.

Multimodal AI means that it will be able to operate within multiple kinds of input, like video, images, and sound.

Scientists are using brain activity to create images of what people see. This helps them understand how the brain represents the world and how computers can interpret images as humans do. While previous methods have had challenges in creating accurate images, a new method called Stable Diffusion has been proposed. It's a type of model that reduces the cost of creating these images while maintaining high accuracy. The scientists also studied the different parts of the model to understand how they relate to different brain functions. This new method creates high-quality images without requiring extensive training or complex models. It's a promising development in understanding how the brain works and how we can use computers to better understand it.

🎙️ Interview of the week: Jon from Akkio

I had the pleasure of speaking with Jon Reilly, COO, and co-founder of Akkio. Jon shared his journey as an electrical engineer and his transition into the startup world, where he and his team have built Akkio – a no-code AI platform that empowers non-engineers to leverage the power of machine learning.

Akkio, which is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and was founded in June 2019, has been on the cutting edge of the no-code AI movement. The company has been growing rapidly and in just three years they have developed sweet integrations with multiple data connectors including Snowflake. Recently, they have also released Chat Data Prep, a new feature that streamlines data preparation.

If you're interested in learning more about how Akkio is making AI accessible to non-engineers, be sure to check out my interview with Jon Reilly. He shares valuable insights into the no-code AI movement and how Akkio is leading the way.

Enjoy your Sunday, and have a great week ahead!
